Travelling and Shopping

Ayala, SM City, Robinson’s Mall – sounds familiar to you? These are just but a few of the great shopping centres here in Cebu City, Philippines. You can get a lot of great deals from these places, that much is true enough. However, you should make it a point not to restrict yourself to your local department stores when it comes to shopping. If you do, then you are sure to miss out on a lot of things. Better yet, every time you travel to a new place, do not forget to stop by at several malls and bazaars found in your destination!

 

The main reason why you should shop at the places you travel to, is so you could be exposed to new choices. After all, goods are not distributed around the world equally, so some things may be present in some places and not in others. Aside from this, every place has something unique to offer. Generally, a destination has a product to sell that only the locals know how to create best, so you should take advantage of that. Clearly, shopping while travelling will improve your knowledge about the world since you get to try out new things. Also, shopping is already a fantastic activity by itself, but you could always enhance the buying experience by entering stores in unfamiliar locations. Additionally, if your travel itinerary is not that full, shopping will always make your trip more fulfilling!

 

Overall, although you should do your best to help your own city’s economy by shopping locally, you should also not deny yourself the varieties offered by the rest of the world!
